After serving for 45 years, one of UP NEC’s pioneer staff, Nanay Nanette B. Pelaez, happily retired from service. She has been recognized by the management and colleagues for her remarkable contributions to the organization, including effective administrative support services and “motherly” advice to every personnel whom she considers as her children.

Arnulfo L. Anoos or popularly known as “Kuya Noli” will be receiving Gawad sa Paglilingkod in recognition of his more than 40 years of service. He assisted UP NEC with reproducing critical materials for training programs and project management. Currently, he is also serving as a building administrator where he provides support with facilities management and safety and security.

The GALING UPD Honor and Awards (Galing Category or Pagkilala sa Pinakamahusay na Yunit/Pangkat) is an award that aims to recognize a team in a section/division of a unit for their outstanding projects and programs that significantly contributed in the attainment of their targets and goals and resulted into a significant impact on the efficient delivery of services.

The UP NEC Post-ECQ Team (PET) is recognized for performing above and beyond expectations.  In the course of fulfilling its duties and responsibilities, the UP NEC PET expanded its functions from merely serving as a COVID-19 coordinating body to a more proactive and engaging team. Using a development approach and guided by the principles of “malasakit, kalinga, bayanihan at walang iwanan sa panahon ng pandemya”, the UP NEC PET covered interrelated areas of health, safety, support services, education, learning and development, compliance with various policy issuances, and continuity of public service delivery. The UP NEC PET worked harmoniously and strategically to successfully craft, design, organize, and implement, and assess educational discussions such as Tara! K’wentuhan Tayo! and KaALAMan; 100ParaSaBitamina; support services to COVID-19 infected personnel; assistance to personnel in securing online vaccine appointments; health and safety signage, tools and supplies; advisories; WFH-PRW arrangements; room disinfection; report generations; and attendance to a number of international and national training and webinars.

These projects, initiatives, and efforts resulted in a positive vaccination rate, including first series and booster shots; low COVID-19 infection rate with no critical and severe cases; zero death; on-time recovery; increase in knowledge and appreciation, improved and sustained employee engagement; continued public service delivery, and intensified cooperation and support system among personnel.

The GALING UPD Honor and Awards (Dangal ng UP Diliman Category or Pagkilala Para sa Pinakamahusay na Kawani) is a high-level honor awarded to outstanding administrative personnel, and research, extension, and professional staff (REPS). This award is conferred to an individual for performance of an extraordinary act or public service and consistent demonstration of exemplary ethical behavior based on his/her observance of the eight norms of behavior provided under Republic Act No. 6713, otherwise known as the “Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees”.
