Ms. Rea Bunuan is the head of the Professional Engineering Training Division of UP NEC.

The UP National Engineering Center proudly congratulates Maria Rea F. Bunuan for bagging the 2022 College of Engineering Complex Outstanding Researcher, Extension and Professional Staff (REPS) Award!

The Outstanding REPS Award is a form of recognition for outstanding performance of REPS. The award aims to encourage the REPS to advance knowledge and learning, and introduce innovations in the various fields of expertise.

Ms. Bunuan is recognized for her exemplary performance in providing strategic and inspiring leadership and efficient administrative support to UP NEC and its Professional Engineering Training Division (PETD).

As member of the UP NEC Management Committee, Ms. Bunuan has contributed to the effective management of the day-to-day affairs of the Center, giving suggestions to further improve the delivery of our services, most especially during transition periods (she has acted as Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Deputy Executive Director from 7 October 2019 to 6 January 2020 and shared in the manning the Administrative Services Division while in the process of hiring the Center’s new Administrative Officer) and as Division Head of the PETD.

As Division Head, Ms. Bunuan is instrumental in the Center’s development, implementation, and evaluation of training and certification programs that are regularly being offered by the Center.  Some of our more popular offerings include the Data Science and Analytics Certification Program; Professional Certificate in Facilities Management; Professional Certificate in Construction Management and the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification Course.

Through her leadership, and with the invaluable assistance of the members of the division, the PETD was able to produce more than 40,000 graduates from both public and government institutions, both local and international.  With the income generated from training programs, the UP NEC was able to upgrade its facilities to further improve the delivery of our training courses.
