Course Overview: Artificial Intelligence is shifting from static, rule-based models to autonomous, decision-making Agentic AI systems capable of reasoning, using tools, and solving complex business challenges.
The UP National Engineering Center (UP NEC) — Professional Engineering Training Division — invites developers, data scientists, and technology leaders to Data Science and Analytics Certification Program Module I: Agentic Artificial Intelligence and Large Language Models.
This intensive 4-day face-to-face module equips you with foundational knowledge and hands-on skills to design, build, and evaluate real-world Large Language Model (LLM) and Agentic AI applications using leading open-source technologies. By the end of the program, you will have developed and evaluated a working Agentic AI prototype aligned with your organization’s operational needs.
What You Will Learn & Build:
- Architect Agentic AI Systems: Go beyond simple prompt engineering into state management, multi-agent coordination, and decision loops.
- Master Open-Source AI Stack: Leverage Python, LangChain, LangGraph, Ollama, and SBERT.net to build self-contained, enterprise-grade AI applications.
- Deploy Local LLMs: Run local language models securely without sole reliance on external proprietary APIs.
- Build a Working Prototype: Work through practical exercises culminating in a functional Agentic AI prototype ready for organizational evaluation.
Leading Open-Source Tech Stack Covered:
| Technology | Application |
| Python | Core programming foundation for modern AI & ML development |
| LangChain | Framework for chaining LLM prompts, memory, and external tools |
| LangGraph | Advanced library for building cyclic, multi-agent graph workflows |
| Ollama | Lightweight tool to run and customize open-weights LLMs locally |
| SBERT.net | Sentence Transformers for dense semantic search and embeddings |
