UP NEC holds First MIND WHAT MATTERS Talk

The University of the Philippines National Engineering Center (UP NEC) holds its first of a series of talks under the “Mind What Matters” Series of Talks on Health and Wellness on February 14, 2023, at the UP NEC Audio Visual Room.  The face-to-face talk entitled “Pagsisikap Para sa Kagalingan at Pag-Iwas sa Sakit Para sa Pagtataguyod ng Kalusugan” was given by Dr. Myrissa Melinda L. Alip, Director of the University Health Service (UHS).  The talk focused on health promotion to mitigate and delay the onset of lifestyle diseases. With her is UHS Deputy Director Dr. Olivia Basuel.

The talk aims to educate participants about leading a long and healthy life by preventing, treating, and managing illnesses. It also dealt with wellness which encompasses lifestyle, mental, and spiritual well-being, and the environment.

The staff of the UP NEC and its constituent centers (NCTS, BRS, PHILCESS, UP College of Engineering and locators of Juinio Hall) attended the talk.  Spearheaded by the UP NEC Health and Wellness Committee, the Mind What Matters Talk is part of the holistic promotion of good health and well-being of the staff.  UP NEC also conducts regular sports activities, sharing of hobby inspiration, and Metal Day (Metal: me talbos, me talong, me talinong pagkain) among others.
