Engineering Management – Your Journey Towards Success as an Engineering Manager

Course Description:

  • This introductory course equips aspiring and current engineering leaders with the fundamental knowledge and skills needed to excel in managing engineering projects and organizations. It explores the intersection of technical proficiency, efficient management, and effective leadership, covering key areas like strategic planning, financial management, marketing, operations, technology, project management, communication, and ethical decision-making.

Course Objectives:

  • The training seeks to improve the management and leadership skills of the participants, especially those in charge with technical or technology-related responsibilities. This introductory course  exposes the participant to the Engineering Management Book of Knowledge for the improvement of his management  skills as an Engineering Manager. Specifically, at the end of the full program, the participants should be able to:
    • Develop effective leadership skills for leading and motivating engineering teams.
    • Understand the role of strategic planning in driving organizational success.
    • Gain essential financial management skills for making sound financial decisions.
    • Apply marketing principles to promote and commercialize engineering products and services.
    • Improve operations and supply chains for efficient and cost-effective production.
    • Leverage technology to drive innovation and improve project outcomes.
    • Manage project lifecycles effectively using established methodologies.
    • Enhance communication and presentation skills to influence key stakeholders effectively.
    • Understand and apply ethical principles in engineering decision-making.
